The Galactic Map is a map showing the whole game map. (18,446,744,073,709,551,616 planets, that is.) It shows possible warp destinations as well as galactic regions, where alien factions have influence. The edge of a galaxy can be seen on it and many way points can too. if you have the economy scanner, you can see what economy it has and can be useful in S class hunting since S class starships appear in high economy systems a lot more than in low economy systems ( for example failing, developing,adequate)
